But it could have been worse, you could have been stuck at home not fishing.
The worst day of fishing is still better than the best day at work. (Unless your The Darkhorse)

Fishing was ok for a couple hours when the water moved well. As soon as the current stopped it died. Overall fairly slow fishing.

Good times with all the guys that made it today. Nice to connect names to faces.

Merry Christmas.

Looks like a good time , Too many unfinished things for me to go this time, after all gotta keep Mama happy, so Maui can fish and hunt..

Is the baseball the secret bait????
Kinda looks like a sewer Octopus, and is Santa the by-catch or is that what gives the Goat the color??
Or are you a Sewer Hoarder, or are they Christmas gifts for Candy??
So many unanswered questions...

Merry Christmas guys!!

That was pretty fun stuff. Awesome to meet you guys finally. Where else can (8) guys fish a 50' reef side by side, tangle each other up on a regular basis and laugh and joke about it the entire time? Only with this crew. I'm glad I came up. Jim

Hell Yeah steevo! those rockfish collars are really, really good! Just like yellowtail and tuna collars are really good...rockfish collars are no joke! Just takes a couple of seconds of work after filleting and you have the best piece of meat that fish has to offer!

That pic of "rush-hour" traffic got me thinking. . .

Imagine fishing in that every time you went out.

Sorry i missed it. I want to catch rock fish.

It wasn't that bad. I caught a really nice sheepshead on my first drop and everyone decided to join in on the fun, I ended up catching three, keep two. Believe it or not we only had two tangles all day long, Matt was involved in both and leave it up to Matt to cut the other guys line. I wanted to fish the ling cod hole but the wind was in our face so that would have made the additional 1.5 mile trek seem more like 10.5 miles.

I have never caused a tangle of my fault, I have always been a victim of careless fishermen not respecting my 500 yds of personal fishing space.

Stay back!

I'll cut you!

Seriously if the wind is good, try paddling to 39.8 16.5 then fish the general area straight due west to 17.0 and also straight south to 39.0. At times that area is loaded with fish, just meter around an look for big meter marks. Boat guys usually don't hit it much because they've got some great spots further down towards the shoe. It's something like 6 or 7 miles from the beach defiantly kayakable. I've fished that area solo from my sit inside, so you could do it with peddles no problem.

.... and Yes the south part is called the dump, so straight from the sewer into the dump

Ya that was me. Bummed I didn't get out. Happy though that I was the last one so there should be no video footage
