****2/28 CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER******

Unfortunately the weather is not in our favor for tomorrows event. (15-25mph winds plus 65% chance of rain). As much as we would love to still host the event, this kind of wind is dangerous for an experienced kayaker and I will not risk it for any of the Veteran participants. It takes about three weeks to get another permit from the State. So instead of postponing the event, we are just going to cancel it outright because we have another event happening in four weeks (3/28).

We had 38 participants coming out, I am sending emails and calling everyone to let them know of the cancellation and offer them a spot for the 3/28 event.

Thank you to everyone who were willing to come out and volunteer. I realize that our next event is during the Fred Hall Show but please consider coming and helping out a Veteran on Saturday morning.

Definitely the right call...would suck to have a bunch of veterans come and have a bad experience and never come back again...

I'm still trying to figure out where I'm going to fish this weekend, no matter where you go it'll be blowing 100mph with gust to 1000mph

Jorge, go to the nearest Ranch 99 market with a Snoopy pole. I'm sure Tony could include that in his next video 🐠

Jorge just load up all the gear and take Tony and just drive over to BUSY BEE. That will make it seem like you were out on your usual fishing trip.

Weather man was wrong :(

Not to second guess, because the forecast looked terrible. But as I sit outside in Bay Park the weather has definitely skirted the bay. The wind is nowhere near 25mph. I think that you all made the right decision it just sucks that the weather was actually pretty decent.

I went down to OEX about 6 am. At that time, the wind was blowing at least 20 mph. Hung around till 8:30 and the wind did drop to around 10 mph. While doable for most of us, I would not take anyone that was not an experienced kayaker out in those conditions, just not worth someone getting in trouble or even drowning. We have to look at the big picture when we host events and make safety our top priority. Thanks to all who offered to help and we will do it again next month on 3/28.

I was on Fiesta Island with my dog, there were a couple of kayakers out and didn't look like they were having fun. Good call
