Tidelands Friday anyone?

Haven't had a chance to go fishing in two months. I did fish Saturday but that was as an am-bass-ador for Saturday afternoon. I was talking to non BWE kayak anglers on the water and telling them about the charity event . This will be just fishing. Would love to hit LJ but big surf and swell don't sound fun after so much time off the Yak. Anyone care to go?

The parking lot hours start at six. You can get there earlier but the Coronado PD can ask you to leave until six. There is no need make them worry that you may have parked overnight. I'll be there right around 6.

Come over the Coronado Bridge staying in the far right lane. Take the first right, it is immediately after the old toll booths. Take the next right at the stop sign and take that road to the parking lot go straight and you are where you want to be. There is a small beach, that's where you launch.

Hi, new to kayak fishing and do mostly long range fishing. What gear do you need to fish at tidelands. I see it is mostly bass but since I don't do much bass fishing, I am looking for pointers. I was going to fish La Jolla on Friday but I may joing you guys instead.
Thanks,
Ron

Fresh water bass gear will do. Or very light saltwater gear.

Would love to join you guys dow nthere this friday but my trucks trans started to slip on my trip home from tidelands this past friday.. I dont think she can take another long trip like that.

It was pretty good fishing also on Friday(6/21) I had 34 spotties, 1 china crocker, 1 California Sole(suprise catch), and 4 macs.

I had thought it was a starry flounder but after further research it had to be a califonia rock sole with its spots and small mouth.

Anyone else coming?
I realize it will be hot Friday but I do recommend that you wear as much coverage as possible. I always wear full length nylon pants and a very light long sleeve top. The sun will be brutal and should be respected tomorrow. Load up on the sunscreen too.
