LJ AM Labor Day

Went North today & drifted sardens till 0930 for nada. Had a HUGE hookup on a 5" swimbait that poped my 15lb Hybrid like it was nothing. Must admit I was totaly unprepaird at the time with the rod in one hand while I was setting my other rod in a diferent holder ops: Oh well. Tons of perfect greenbacks by the pier and pleanty of sardens. Coming in Sun I saw a few real nice halibut crusing around right at the surf line 50yds south of the launch. Very cool 8) . MKNOTT

About your huge hit...

Phreshwon and I were north over Torrey Pines Reef One on Saturday AM and I had a quick hit and break on a smaller Thresher (saw the tail, then got the line back cut at the hook.)

Where were you when you had your hit?

BTW, Marc caught a 10 lb halibut there, too (Megabait bucktail).
