Probably not, but it looks like a useful back up for those days that you forget to bring a PFD.

I have to wonder why they start it out with pac man music. The good thing about that is after you drown you will be easy to find because your hand will be waving in the wind

There are other videos, but this one best demonstrates the usefulness of the wrist pfd. lol and you're supposed to hug the balloon for it to work.

Definitely not an alternative to a full PFD but may be something useful to have as backup in an emergency kit, it may also come in handy if you come across someone else who needs help on the water.

As compact and "neat" as this is, it looks like you have to deploy it... meaning some level of conscious effort.

If you get knocked-out/run over by a boat, the PFD will still do its thing where this will just be along for the ride to the bottom (or wherever the current decides to take your non-responsive self).
