Black Pearl dates (16-18)

Sorry guys... dates were one off for the upcoming Black Pearl trip. It's actuall Jan 16-18, which works way better. This is leaving Friday night and returning Sunday night vs returning Monday. Hopefully this opens things up a little if anyone was on the edge. I have 3 kids, so I know the Mrs. likes a Sunday return vs Monday

MKnott is a definite maybe, so I'm gonna twist his skinny little arm till he says yes

I think we have a total of 4 right now, so we're hoping to rally up 4+ more.

Go Eddy! We have a surprising weather pattern, mild right through next weekend. Wish I could go, gonna be some kayak mothership new frontier exploration.

That's so funny you say that. The first mothership trip I ever did I brought my wife "for a Valentines Day gift" and after that she said she'd prefer to choose the "gifts" from then on out. Geez, that was eons ago, but we're still married and I'm still alive and kayak fishing.

We have a killer crew of yak anglers that you will no doubt get along with. As Ice said, this will be new territory and we are pumped. Not new fishing grounds... just new kayak fishing grounds. I don't "expect" crazy things to happen like huge YT or the likes... but if we get good weather, some big lings, reds, etc... and I take everybody's $$$ in poker after dinner, then everything will be just fine

Don't get me wrong... there are always some winter homeguard YT around, so be ready for anything. Believe it or not, I am most looking forward to some toad calicos on light tackle. After 4 years in Hawaii, I actually miss those buggahs!!!

Last call. Looks like sunshine and ultra-glassy conditions on tap. We have a super mellow group of yak anglers ready to roll. Boat leaves Pt Loma at 8pm tomorrow night. In all my years of Baja (and combing the whole coast) I have yet to kayak fish soledad bay, so I'm looking forward to something new. Good bait at the receiver and we're planning on making some squid, too. That way, if there are YT in the mix... that'll be the ticket!

Still spots open, I heard Soledad Bay was one of the spots(between Punta Banda and PST), along with being the first mothership to possibly fish San Martin. If I could go I'd jump at the chance to spend 2 days again with the Pearl. PM Trout if you want to scramble and hop on this, leaving tonight. At the very least you will bring home some tasty quality fillets and some great memories of an adventure.

I would fish nothing but iron!
