La jolla (9/11)

I had been to La Jolla about 10 times in the last 2 summers and no yellowtail to show for it. I decided it was time to consult an expert so I called up The Darkhorse. Met him at the launch around 10am and we were soon off making bait. We had a difficult time finding bait but managed a tank full after some time. Got to the fishing grounds and started the real task of catching my first YT. Let's put it this way...it was a really good day. Hooked 5, released 1, and 1 got off close to the boat. Off the water by 6. I learned a ton and I can honestly say it was well worth it, even if I hadn't caught a YT. Thanks to The Darkhorse for a great time.

So Rad! Congrats!

I so wanted to get out to LJ on 9/11...Short Story.

When my dad was alive he and I were actually the only 2 kayaks on the water in LJ on that terrible day. We received the call from my mom as we were making bait at the pier. I asked my dad if we should go in and he said that this is the best place to be. It was crazy! We had Navy Seals blast past us on boats and saw F-16 flying the coast. I never felt more safe than that day. I will never forget the fallen and always be proud to be an American. Nice report.'
