PA Rudder Problem

Saterday When I came back in from fishing I saw a problem.
I went out of LB and after I launched I dropped the rudder, used it all day no problem,
then when I get close to short I pulled up the rudder and pulled in the mirage drive and landed.
Well when I was unloading the yak and about to put the wheels on
I saw my rudder was down but the pull string was pulled tight in the up position!
So I let the string go back into the down position then tried to pull it back up... AND NOTHING?!
but yet it still steered with no problem out on the water!!!!
anyone have any ideas what could have happen
or what the problem might be?

Steering control lines and up/down lines are independent. Sounds like you broke the up line.

What he said. When you open the rudder access port you'll see a small hole on the starboard (the right side). Thats where the line is supposed to come up and into the port and attach to the rudder.
