Sea lion vs shark

Even the sea lions were getting in on the shark action last Sat at LJ, I was cheering for the sea lion for a change.

Cool pic. I've seen seals with guitar sharks a couple times. One steals your bait, the other fools you into thinking it's a halibut on the end of the line. I can't cheer for either.

fighters

It was pretty amazing, the lion would go under for 30 secs or so thrash around and surface with the shark in his mouth and violently smack him against the water, repeated that about a dozen times. I was bummed when I looked at my pics later that only that one came out well.

Saw one doing that at redondo during the Baytubers tournament. It was having lots of fun with a batray. Was doing the slap and tossing it through the air as well.

Incredible pic, wish I could've been there to see it.

Hope ol' knothead remembers he's still a part of the food chain...

Puhaha well put! I catch those shovelnose guitarfish all the time off the surf. Whenever I get color it just pisses me off. Deep down inside I know its going to be a guitarfish, but hoping for a wsb or halibut. A foulhooked guitarfish on the tail feels like headshakes. Damn those triangleheads.
