Lost custom mini-flygaff La Jolla (Thursday night)

I was just going through my gear thinking about fishing tomorrow and realized the my Kayak flygaff is gone.

I'm pretty sure I had it at the truck Thursday night when I was loading up in the Parking lot just North of the Launch at La Jolla. So it probably got left there, or perhaps on the sand. After 14 hours of fishing I was pretty tired so who knows...

It's a weird little gaff I made out of a ski pole, two pieces of black grip foam and a stainless 14/0 big game hook and some black rope.

The deal is when the hook is pulled up, locked in place it looks like a normal gaff with a barbed hook but the hook and rope can slide through the Gaff shaft after I have gaffed the fish allowing me to hang it off the side and bleed it on the hook without flopping it in my lap.

Here's a pic of it in the front crate rack:

Here's a gaffed halibut hanging on the rope and hook with the aluminum shaft in a rod holder:

That's actually the original version with a 10/0 hook but I just re-did it with a 14/0 Hays hook....

...that has had the eye cut off ant then was spliced directly to the rope using a sleeve that is covered with green heat shrink tubing.

If anyone sees or finds it let me know, and I'll eiether come get it or pay to have it shipped to me.

It's not a huge deal but it's a one of kind thing I made, it works pretty good and I really like it.
