What's you fav weather check for So Cal?

Recent County Line rescues make we want to ask . . . What's you fav web or phone app to check conditions before you hit the waves?

I liked Accuweater because they carried small craft warning stuff...but there were ad issues and I yanked it from my phone.

I'm finding a cross of weather.com and Surfline.com seem to be a good combo.

Anyone have a like or better formula for weather?

Check them all and chances are each one will give you a different forecast.

Show up at the landing and you'll get an accurate forecast

Exactly what made me want to ask! LOL!

I was thinking of dropping in off PV and drifting to Cabrillo . . . . Figured you can net me out as I blow by if I get the weather wrong!

Surfline- failed, Magic seaweed-failed! Nobody predicted those winds at that time. They came 4-5 hours early.

Use like ten different ones and cross reference each one, lol.

Showing up to the landing didn't even work! See pic below.

Makes friends with captains, and guys on the water every day. More reliable than the weatherman or an app. I gotta find one too!

Stick my head outside and check. If it's raining, head is wet, if not, it's dry. Hair messed up, windy, if not, calm.

I use a combination of Magic Seaweed, Surfline, and the various webcams.

I'm mostly watching for swell heights over 3', periods shorter than 5 seconds, and if there's enough wind to move large flags.

But show up at the launch is still far more reliable, as I'm not salty enough to have salty captain friends.
