Reel Servicing

My gear did not get used very much this summer but it looks like a couple reels need servicing. If anyone has a recommendation for a good shop or individual in North County, I would appreciate the referral.

Thanks in advance.

Bob

I agree, they do good work but they have a pretty long wait and are abit pricey.

That's where I take my reels. Usually a 2 week wait. $20 bucks for clean and lube. Carbontex drags add $3 or $4 bucks. They have been swamped ever since the Fred Hall show so if you need your reel back sooner call and ask how long it will be. Bob, they do great work.

Another option...

There is a guy in San Marcos that works out of a little shop he built in the carport of his mobile home. He does a great job and he is pretty quick. He also does rod repair. He does the reel service for a lot of the tackle stores in the area. His prices and service are hands down the best I have experienced.

REEL FIX is his company name and his name is Don Kay 760-807-4682

Squidco down in San Diego on Barnett does a great job for very reasonable prices. Definitely worth the drive.
