You will need to get out of the mouth of the harbor. Just after I made it out yesterday the birds were working right there so I dropped my sabiki and made 6 pretty quick. Small to medium size. They're all around right there and towards the buoy and all around it.

I seem to find more trolling my sabiki down to about 20 feet. There has been a lot of Bonito mixed with the macs as well. Those guys can destroy a sabiki quick.

I was there yesterday. Outside the harbor, the bait is really small. 3-4 inches. Not bad for fishing within the harbor, but not very good for YT. I tried anyway but the Bonito were something of a nuisance.

Good to know and thanks for the report.

How big were the boneheads?

If you can get 8-10" bonies, I'll take them over greenbacks.

The bones were that size and bigger. I've tried to keep a couple in the tank but they don't stay alive for long where the macs stay alive all day.

Has anyone had any success catching yellows, or anything other than sharks with Bonito?
