8/31-9/1-LJ PM

I'm on the PM shift all weekend.

Friday, paddled out to the south bull kelp outside bird rock where the head PM boat and a few PBs were settled in. Head boat left and it was me and the PBs. Saw a fellow and his son hook a 10-ish lbs bonie. Threw the surface iron and had a dead stick megabait. Hooked calicos on boils and hooked mid column. Kept a few for dinner, Wife wasn't into it. I just laugh.

Saturday, Got a later start and fished off of Hospitals. Right away hooked a few calicos on the iron. Finally made bait, Spanish Macs in 100ft of water. They were in 75-50ft, and were pretty big. Trolled 2 around the kelp line and back to the beach. Nothing. 4 boats out. 1 cigar boat, if you got it, fire it up.

Be out there tomorrow and the next. Here some pics from Fri.

Thanks for the report, Afran. I wish I would have known that was you out there, I would have given you a shout. I fished a little northwest of you, near an aluminum. Before the cattle boat came the alum was short pumping a yellow (15-20#ish). Big schools of macs and cudas...

very cool, I've been settling in the SW areas, I fully missed the cudas.... I'd like to hook something besides calico. Monday? Let me know... I'll most likely be escaping 100+ heat and hit the water around 3.
