9/3 - LJ AM-Mid day - Kayak Fishing Adventures on Big Water’s Edge

A gorgeous day! The best Monday I've had in a long time, they should all be made like this. You know, the beach, beer, bass, bbq, sand, chicks, body surfing, slick water.

Launched at 7:30 am. Headed to the West bull kelp. Calicos were already poppin, but I had my mind on trolling. Saw a school of cuda in the forest. Chatter of bonie, big spanich macs, and cuda on the radio. Dogs were a BIG problem today. Got sniped twice. Dropped the dogs on a parker. Trolling a big spanish, saw a few paddies WAY outside, and ran for it. It was dry, had a striper troll around it as well. Back to the kelp.

Deep in the forest throwing swimmies, getting bit. Boils every where. Tied on a Topwater Tango Dancer and started walking the dog. Basically it was murder city. They killed the jig.

I love fishing topwater, fresh water, salt water, sammys, poppers, irons, whatever, the bite is amazing.

My favorite bites came off some submerged stringers on the inside. Some heavy fish. Epic calico bite. Landed at 2:00pm Body surfing time. Here is a small sample of the catch.

Nice going Afran, cool pics!

I haven't fished LJ in a while - good to hear there's bait and fish willing to bite.

I'm sure we'll have some pointer kind of love move in any time now...
