Old School report LJ 12/31/15

Launched this morning to beautiful conditions. Went straight out from the launch to what I consider the eastern edge of the WHG. Didn't bother trying to make bait just dropped my B/W Salas 6x jr to the bottom in a approx. 100ft. First bounce got a good shake but nothing stuck. Dropped it again and after just about a minute I felt ahh shit I'm hung on the bottom already, wrong answer, Next thing I know I'm on big time, and its headed to the kelp. 10 minutes later I see it at about 20ft and I hit with the gaff, secure it and bring the 28lb, (40in. at the fork) YT in. I feel very blessed.
Happy New Year everyone.

what a way to end the year. I saw a few guys launching at LJ this morning, including a couple of guys launching a skiff from the beach. It looked like a great day to go fishing.
