2015 Hobie Outback review

Hey All

I picked up the new Outback last week at OEX Sunset Beach. I took it out to NPH yesterday and boy was it a blast (fishing sucked). I had a 2011 Revo before and it was a tight fit for me, and my back would get sore quickly. The Outback is stable, very stable even with a bunch PBR and JetSkis flying around me I never unstable.

PROS:
With the new flat deck you can stand up on it, or crawl up to the front hatch without any issue. The new seat is amazing, you can raise it up or down. If you raise it up high enough you can store two tackle boxes underneath it. When the seat was raised to highest point you never felt unstable. Peddled from 7:00AM till 2:30PM. I could have stayed out there long but I was hungry.

Stable very stable!

New mirage drive. This thing is smooth, pedal flawlessly very smooth with no play. It came with ST fins which propelled me as fast Turbo fins on my Revo

CONS:
No square hatch in the front. The wire holes for the FF are in the side pockets instead of on top storage are. It does seem a bit heavier than my Revo. Rudder come on Hobie, is it really that expensive to include two rudders, one short and one long. None of these are show stoppers!

So if you are looking into getting a new yak be sure to try out the 2015 Outback, you will not disappointed.

Did you happen to notice your seat making a slight creaking noise when pedaling? Mine did a little yesterday.

Not at all. Are you seated it properly?

Yeah, the seat is clicked in. I noticed it made some noise in the lower position.
