Ill go whenever you want if your willing. Not in the open see though. I was thinking Mission Bay. There is some street light so I can see a little bit lol. If you want to go what did you have in mind? This is my first night session on a yak so I'm down to try some new stuff out.

LJ is not so bad at night actually. There is lights from shore and if it's a decent moon it's plenty.

I looked into it a few tears ago and if I remember correctly, there is a law requiring a specific type of light for any vessel traveling on the water at night.
I was asking because I don't remember the specifics.

I have a few lights. Headlamp, HDS light, red hobie front nautical light, yak attack visicarbon light and these.

I thought it was something like this... http://kayakfishinggear.com/scottyse...ingsafety.aspx

The law may just be that you have to have a light that is visible from a certain distance?

Yea I read that you don't need to have nav lights or an anchor light for kayaks, a simple flashlight or headlamp will do. You're safer with an all-around light though, they have 360 degree vis for a few miles. Here's a pretty good article about it
