Short stroking, hard bites, aggressive paddling, weighing your catch, practicing catch and release, and moving from hole to hole until you find that sweet spot are all perfectly acceptable when kayak fishing.

If you're not getting any action while fishing it's perfectly acceptable to switch from a 4/0 to a 2/0
