Steve and I arrived at the Ski Beach ramp just before sunrise. Wind was howling and cold. Decided to drink some coffee in the truck until the sun came up and warmed things up a bit. Ended up launching about 6:45. My FF was acting up so I don't know what the water temp was, but it was warmer than the air. Water was really clear and the tide was incoming at a good clip. Wind died about 8:00 and then it got hot. Around 10:30 a breeze out of the NW cooled things down.

First hour or so I got nothing but 3 bites. Steve had 3 fish. Then things slowly picked up for me. No great bite, just steady. Fish were mostly out in the middle today. In fact I got nothing in tight, not even a bite. Fish were really picky today too. 4" and 5" Paddlerz in Rootbeer gold flake and a couple on New Penny. Every other color was not bit. Hot Sauce helped today too. Finished w/13 shorts and 3 legals. Many of the shorts were micros, the legals were barely so.

Being the old men that we are, we were off the water at 11:00. Steve was cramping and my back was killing me. We had a good time even though the bite was slow.
