Hi all...

Haven't been fishing much lately... Haven't had much time to even check the forums..

I finally managed to find some time to launch a spam bot counter attack.

During the new account registration, the forum now requires to provide the name one of either Ocean bordering the East or the West US coast. Silly question, but it ought to help stop the spam bots. The answer is not case sensitive. This is in addition to the string verification reCAPTCHA feature, that some of the spam bots have obviously found the way around.

The only change that all of you folks that already registered ought to notice is the reduced amount of spam, hopefully no spam at all.

Keep in mind - no admin measure will stop a real human from registering and posting spam. Those posts will be nuked as soon as one of the board admins sees them. Vast majority of spam registration and posts are done by the spam bots (automated software routines), so this ought to help.

Thank you all for your help reporting the spam posts - please keep doing it, as it helps us get on it sooner.
