yellow kayaks and hammerheads

I have seen 3 videos this year of hammerheads circling kayaks. All of the kayaks were yellow. I jokingly told a friend of mine that female hammerheads turn yellow during mating season.
He busted up laughing.

Glad I don't have a yellow kayak haha

I have a red kayak and no hammerheads followed me. So it must be true.

Every sea lion in the frikkin Pacific followed me and ate my bait, so, red attracts the dogs, yellow attracts the hammers. It's science!

yellow kayaks

I don't think they are keying in on a certain color. I think they know there are mackeral there since the bait tank is discharging mackeral flavored water. This also would explain why they are bumping into the kayaks. You notice this point has not been brought up on the radio or the news stations.

Another good reason for me not to have a live well on my kayak.

Mine is grey, but I have not been on water long enough to notice any of these incidents.

My PA14 is green and I have had a large hammerhead follow me around on multiple occassions.
