La Jolla 3.31

It's been a while since I posted anything on here but I've still been out fishing. 3 weeks ago I got a sweet gift after losing a gopro in the drink. I got a nice yellow almost instantly after putting a new bait out; like I was hand feeding it almost. Shortly after that one, my buddy Justin hooks up right in front of me as we're slow trolling so I pitch a jig out and it's instantly hammered. As I was fighting that fish, my live bait went off too. I managed to land the one on the jig and the other spit the bait.

Fast forward to 3.31 and Steveoo, Jim Sammons and his daughter are there and they all hook up and get their fish in. 15 minutes later my bait gets hammered right after I see a dog pop up. Instantly I'm thinking dog as it's towing me pretty fast; that was until I felt headshakes that I knew I had a nice yellow on. The dang thing pulled me straight into the bull kelp where I thought for sure I would lose it. Steveooo watched me for a few minutes until he thought for sure I would break it off. As what seemed like an eternity of a game of Tug-of-War, I was tempted to cut the line too as I wasn't getting anywhere with it. After giving it one more last ditch effort and really pulling hard to work it loose, I pull up a tree full of kelp with a fish in the middle of it! Not a giant but at least 100 lbs of kelp made it feel a little bigger

she must of gotten skunked or she figured out that her husband loves to fish more that he loves her.

Thanks for the kind words guys. That girl is just bummed her boyfriend doesn't fish. She was probably thinking of ways to upgrading him to a fisherman
