Rod builders?

I'm looking to get a new light surf rod built...any of you guys build or know any local rod builders close to Oceanside? I'm not looking for anything to fancy but definitely looking for real quality work.

I've just recently started building so not really ready to go pro yet...

There are some really good builders on BWE: Wiseguy, fishinkid2010, T Bone, and probably others I've missed. Send them a PM and/or check out some of Wiseguy's work on BD's.

Bill Havens (SaltyDawg on BD) does outstanding work, too.

You should do it yourself. I wrapped by first rod close to 20 years ago. No rolling machine, no dryer, nothing. It's not hard, but it takes time. It's pretty cool when you land your first fish on a rod you wrapped yourself.

I wrapped the Marine for my dad for Father's Day. I put Proud father of Iraq Afghan Vet on it for him to represent myself. Did an army one with the Bronze star on it to represent my brother...... Thanks guy on the comments, if anyone else wants a rod, just let me know... West Coast Rodz on Facebook

If anyone else is interested, just hit me up. Keep in mind, for those who like our stuff, we are giving away a rod to the winner of each tournament in the WCR trail. Also will be giving two rods to the Pro/ Am anglers of the year. So maybe you can get one with out having to pay for one!
