Tidelands 4/6/14

Hit up Tidelands again this weekend with Ed. Conditions were awesome all morning, and tons of kayaks on the water. I think I counted 15 not counting us. The fishing was good as always. A good mix between legal sized bass and smaller halibut. Ran into a few fimiliar faces, one being ToddOne. Swung into Joe's for lunch as always. The fish were wanting a little bigger profile baits. 3/4oz blades and 5" swimbaits seemed to be the ticket in white colors.

We plan on repeating the process again this Saturday for anyone wanting to join in. Here are a couple pix. Managed one legal halibut with another that was a board stretcher and sent away to grow bigger for another day.

I made sure I caught the first fish on my newly wrapped REVC 76 MH-SB. This rod is sick! Absolutely perfect for throwing 1oz-2oz swimbaits or light A-Rig.

Category 5 Hurricane. That what it felt like on the water around 2pm when we went in to eat! It only felt right for the moment along with the Corona.

Killer Yacht

All the sail boat yachts were going in and envying this mammoth of a Yacht. It had to be at least 150' from point to point.

Great report. That lunch break looks way better than bringing a sandwich and being able to pull up to the dock next to it that's priceless.

nice PA

Nice new ride! I think that will handle the Mission Beach 10' swells that we paddled into a few months back just fine.

It was a tough haul back to Spanish Landing for me, with the in coming tide. When I got there there was a guy on th rock fighting a 35 inch Hali with light tackle. I had to come to his rescue with the gaff. He got it on a drop shot with a chartreuse mullet. I'm seeing a lot more caught on plastic than live bait right now.

My PB Halibut came on the same rig & bait...in that same location.
