This forum is run by the good folks at OEX for the community..
Does that mean if we use Hobie products or buy Hobie products from Fastlane we shouldn't be here?

Personally, I find the anti-Hobie bullying, shaming and chest-beating that goes on here to be off-putting. Nobody should try to enforce exclusivity with this kind of ridicule. That's not right and it's self-defeating.

I'll buy my supplies from anyone I like, including Squidco, West Marine and others. Fastlane has always been good to me. So has OEX.

Also, OEX may help support this website, but who contributes most of the content? Answer: the entire kayak fishing community who comes here to participate. OEX should be appreciative of that. They probably are. That shouldn't preclude us from mentioning the F-word.

We all go to events sponsored by lots of companies who want to promote their products. Why not?

Hobie

I'm sorry I started this...Fast Lane is a Hobie dealer and I support their business as I do with all the Hobie dealers in So. Cal...as a regional Hobie Team member I should have PM'd the poster to inform him of who it is that runs this particular board....rather than cause this divisiveness.
I Apologize...!

With that out of the way I can second what Mo said...

I apologize too, but back to the point of this thread:

I have been looking for a 2nd Hobie Outback to rent in San Diego and have not found one yet. I may end up buying a second Outback myself just to have it available for friends.

Some of the local fishing guides have extra kayaks available if you want to go with a guide. Those I've met have lots of talent and are good at what they do. Their prices can be reasonable, especially if it includes the extra kayak we need and if we can learn some important new skills.

@Iceman Do you rent any Tandem Kayaks at OEX Sunset Beach? I want to take my GF but she doesn't want to paddle herself, she just wants to come along for the ride LOL.
Yes, Malibus, OK and Perception are $25 for 2 hours, Hobies, I have Outfitter and Oasis $50 for 2 hours.
