HH 4th of July

Kaya and I fished Huntington Harbour today and also did a little bird watching.

Before getting too far underway, Kaya took the opportunity to demonstrate how to get back
into the kayak after jumping in to test the PFD.

Since I don't have a fishfinder, Kaya did it the old fashioned way.

"Cast right over there..."

Though she was kind in her criticism, this was her way of letting me know that this sand bass
is not to her standards.

Here she is sniffing this spotty's bass.

A kick of the tail and a sprinkle on the face.

She's getting good at identifying the species.

This was our fat bass for the day.

She's letting this bad bass know she is not backing down for nothing. Bring on the threshers!

I don't know if this bass just ate too much or if it is full of eggs.

"Yep, its another spotty"

"and another"

"Nope, this one's a sargo"

What a great way to end a nice day of fishing.

All fish catch-photo-release (CPR).
