NP Kiddie Rod Tournament 08/05/17

Got together with a few new and old friends to do a fun Kiddie Rod Tournament.

I don't fish the bay or know much about fishing for bass. I'm more of an offshore Kayak or Long Range guy. But went just for fun.

Beautiful day on the water and I worked the boat docks for a hr with a few weedless jigs for no joy.

Needing Lobster bait for the upcoming Lobster Season... I decided to go Offshore and tie on a Sabiki Rig. Only got a few Green Backs.

Dropped down to the bottom on 80' of water and a few minutes later.... I got hammered. The Kiddie Rod bend over and loads up. Drag ripping... I just figured I was going to get Spooled. Minutes later I gain line... Lift and wind line in.

I look over and see color. I'm now laughing and excited at the same time. There are TWO FAT SAND BASS on the Kiddie Rod Sabiki Rig. Grab the first one... Then the second one.

Needless to say I Won the Kiddie Rod Tournament. Final bag count.. two Mac's and two Fat Sand Bass.

Thx... Day on the water is always fun. But toss on dumb Kiddie Rods and the challenge is a whole different fun.

I almost had more fun than catching my 145 lb BFT last weekend.

That's down right entertaining right there. I didn't even think those reels hold 80' of line lol
