OTWR SD Bay

The plans were to make a long journey out to the rockpile for yellows and lings, but a friend hit me up last night to do some fishing. Narrowed it down between Carlsbad Lagoon and/ or SD Bay. SD Bay was the choice. Started off a little slow, made some adjustments and started catching fish, but not a lot. Around 10:15 made one last adjustment and started nailing on almost every cast. Been fishing for about 3 1/2hrs with the catch toll right around 60 spots. Going to head to look for some Sandies now. Caught a few small ones in the early goings.

Baits of choice, 7" MC Viejos

Until I catch something worthy....

I've caught at least 15-16 legals in the 15"-17" range spitting up little anchovies

Caught close to fourth yesterday, half Sandies with 4x in the 2.75-4# range, with a few decent Hali's mixed in

Those things are crack for bass... I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it for myself but I was on a multi day offshore in Baja and watched the cook chuck out an Alabama (5 hook positions) into the kelp. Instantly hit and hauled it in LOADED with checkers! Every one of them legal by a mile.
