Exclamation Stay out of Newport!

Last week I mentioned they were dredging in Newport. Well, I work for a company specializing in Hazardous Material Spills, and a nice little report just came through....

California Emergency Management Agency
Hazardous Materials Spill Report
DATE: 08/16/2012

City of Newport Beach

1. Sewage = 2800 Gal(s) SEWAGE

g. DESCRIPTION: RP states that a dredging company hit a sewer force main in Newport Bay resulting in the release of 2800 gallons of sewage into the Bay. The release is contained and caller states that the release has dissipated into the Bay. Newport Bay has been impacted.

There's a saying... "Dilution is the solution." But I'm still not fishing here for a while. I'd suggest you guys do the same.

Even though I've said it time and time again no one listens to or believes a word I say so I'll say it again.

The top coat of the halibut isn't the same color as poo just because.

and the MLPA blames fishermen for loss of sea life? WTF!

I wonder do these A-holes have to do any environmental impact studies?
When they dredged the Dana Point harbor several years ago the halibut fishing in the harbor was destroyed.

I can tell you for certain that the dredging this summer has killed the bite in the inner harbor. I fished a bunch of spots last time I was out there that used to produce fish after fish, and my offerings didn't even get a sniff from a fish. Now this? Time to head north or south...Team No Dookie

Head south my friend but you better hurry as the team is branching out.

Team Sewer on the move!

We are panning an "accidental" radiation leak at San O in two weeks. Plan your fishing trips accordingly.

Oh, by the way, those LJ YT are getting more frequent or what?

Seems like you just have to show up and you are getting a yellow to go.
