65, been Yakfishing LJ most Saturdays since 01. With a few physical issues, I'm a bit more conditions selective now. Started fishing SO Cal waters in 1954 and really don't want to stop.
Hang in there and good luck,
Ed

JJ here. I'll be 48 this November.

My good friend Jeff (Rhino) Krieger got me hooked on yak fishing nearly 20 years ago.
I used to fish the Malibu area often.
Now, two very active boys, 14 and 11, and a busy career, keep me from getting out much.
I LOVE LJ and the San Diego area.
Thanks to Yani (my brotha from another motha), I get to fish LJ once in a blue moon, and pretend I know what I'm doing
Wish I could get out there more often.
Only problem, I live in Ventura County (Thousand Oaks).
Sure is getting harder to make a day trip down there. Really tough to stay awake on the drive back!!!

With any luck, I'll be fishing and diving into my 90s!
Cheers!

Only as old as you feel!

It's hard to try and live within some age based reality. I raced mx till I had broken my neck, both ankles, shoulder blade, knee and fractured lower back. So I decided hang gliding would be safer(doh) jumped off Palomar mountain and Torrey pines several times. Now at 61 yrs old with a fused back and ankle and a beer belly la jolla is really daunting(and calling me). Then to read Tony's story, that IS what keeps me on the beach. I give all you guys on BWE a lot of credit for not only being great fishermen, but braving the elements to reach the fishing zone. I can only hope(it's my goal) that as I become more familiar with my battleship (PA14) that I will one day catch that big yellowtail. For now I'm learning about loosing equipment(lol) and bay fishing. A man has to have dreams to be happy and kayak fishing keeps me dreaming of my next outing. 61 is the new 41 !!!!

39, had knee surgery for stepping wrong with a heavy rucksack on, took shrapnel to the shoulder and shattered a couple bones in my hand when I missed the guys face and hit the wall. Yes, the body hurts after a long day paddling but when you put forth the effort, the universe rewards you.
