nearly sank again....

welll if you remember my last post about almost sinking we were in a inflatable zodiac and it had massive air and water leaks. we decided to take out an aluminum boat that is meant for lakes (it has really low sides and is only 11 feet long) to la jolla. had a fun time watching the dolphins play in the bow wake. got out to the kelp and started fishin. my friend decides to stand up and loses his balances causing him to land on the side of the boat which brought the side of the boat below the water line. I quickly leaned to the other side and balanced us while trying to get some water out. It was half full and it kept on leaning from side to side getting more and more water in. managed to keep the balance and bailed the water out from a bait bucket. we were soooo close to sinking that boat that it wasnt even funny. My friend now has lost his standing privileges. before we go out again im gonna put foam blocks beneath the seats. oh and we were 2 miles from the nearest shore so we would have been screwed up the ass pretty hard if we did sink.

I saw a boat just like that today in LJ. Saw a guy standing up in it too...

Glad to hear you made it back to land safely.

Mike...with your recent track record on the water, you may want to consider being a shore fisherman for awhile.

hahaha that was me in the waders takin a piss and i dont have a hitch on my car so im stuck with water ever i can fit ontop of it and i think a boston whaler would be a bit too big but i like the bilge pump idea. i saw a guy launching his boston whaler and we were both like we should get one of those and then we saw all this water splash over the back when he was launching and we were both like ehhh maybe not haha.
