portable fish finders

anyone have any views on the portable fish finders. they run on 8 aa batts. they offer enough bells and whistles to get the job done, but have a little 4x4 screen. i just like the idea of their self contained portablity. i don't really want two 12 volts or one running both bait tank and fish finder. any thoughts would be helpful. thanks, mike

Mike I have a pirahna portable and think it works fine. I bought rechargeable AAs from Harbor Freight. The suction cup for the tansducer used to be hard to get off, now it falls off a couple times each outing. I have had this unit for over 2 years.
