Wheeleez mini cart - any good? - Kayak Fishing Adventures on Big Water’s Edge

Looking for a kayak cart that can be easily broken down and stowed in a small hatch + will easily haul a kayak over sand. I’ve made a few kayak carts of my own. But they failed in the “easily stowed in the hatch” feature that I’m looking for. My current kayak cart is the C-tug. Easily breaks down and stowable. Travels well over firm surfaces. But fails miserably traversing over sand. Considering the Wheeleez mini kayak cart. Have seen mixed reviews – mostly from non-kayak applications. Just curious if there are other recommendations and/or what are your experience with the Wheeleez mini cart.

I use something like this. The wheels detach and the frame folds down. The whole thing fits inside the front hatch of my kayak. I also recommend deflating the tires a little if you are pulling through a lot of sand.

use mine all the time. works great in both hard and soft sand. have no problems wheeling the yak from the launch to the parking lot at L.J. or any where else. Love the wheels on it.

About gave myself a heart attack plowing through 50+ yards of sand (and back) with my kayak/gear. Would had just dragged it over the sand, but I was afraid of gouging the hull with the scattered rocks.

KJsdad619 and Molten Furnace - how well do your carts do in the sand? They don't bog down and trench while hauling 70+#'s of kayak/gear through soft sand?
Tacmilk - do you have the full size or the Wheeleez mini?

i highly recommend the wheelez mini kayak cart. i use it on my outback fully rigged with bait tank no problem dragging thru the sand. but it does take some practice to align the kayak straight and tight straps so it does not slip off. and it can fully disassemble and fit inside my front storage.

Tamddo714 thanks for your advice. You don’t get bogged down into the sand hauling your Outback? Seriously contemplating the wheeleez. Just debating on whether or not the mini will be sufficient. Going to have to try a test run!

Captnblood34, I’ve got a Viking Profish Reload – about 14 and a half feet long and loaded with gear easily hits 80#’s

I got this cheaper than wheelez and gets the job done. Just made some satablizer bars for it out of pvc and don't strap It down instead use some paracord string to a clip and clip it onto the eyelet for where that seat straps on so it won't slide off. I seem to pull mine fine thru the sand at coast guard station and to me it's pretty soft. just make sure the wheels are inflated properly

Sure do... With full gear its a little heavy but would be same thing with any cart. I use the hobie plug in cart with standard wheels when I know I won't be in the sand... Sand wheels are worth it no matter which ones you get
