Newport, 8-13-15

Landwhale and I launched at 6:30 to clear skies and a light south wind. Water was gin clear, but as my FF battery was dead I don't know what the temp was. Decent current for the first couple of hours, though it didn't help me any. I was hoping for redemption after last weeks poor performance. Alas, it wasn't to be. I finished the day with 4 fish. UGHH!. Steve did better. I fished multiple colors and it didn't help a bit. Hot Sauce helped get the bites, but I just couldn't stick 'em. Then the current died and everything shut down. Off the water by 10:30.

Oh well, next week we're hitting Dana Pt. and hopefully it'll be better.

We actually fished the Pipe a couple of weeks ago. Nothing out deeper, but we eventually found some in shallow. We're thinking we'll fish Capo next week and hopefully find some biters in tight.
