County Line WSB

Buddy and I went out to County Line (Malibu) today to chase some white meat. After someone overslept I knew that we would get there way to late for all the action.

Finally arrived around 6:30 easy launch, almost glass all day and easy landing. (for most)

There is a lot of squid and even I was able to make bait this time (miracle).

Around 9 I hooked up right off the bottom in 75 feet.

I made every attempt to loose this fish.
Got tangled with a friend's line.
Played "chicken" with an anchor line.
Missed two gaff shots.
Straightened out a cheap ass hook.

No "Happy Mother's Day" for this Mom!

I need a bigger ice chest

Also got a little keeper Ling on the way in.

Look at Matt showing off the guns! Holding that monster fish with one arm. Nice Bicep muscle...Congrats on that trophy

I wish some of that squid would visit La Jolla.

Carpooled with a buddy. I was "forced" to continue fishing as he had the truck keys.. Mostly became the " bait biiiiatch".. Was actually hoping for a Hali.

we all thought you kept fishing for your buddies as they hadn't got one yet.. Most went out again today, I would but 2 straight days of paddling around and I need my rest plus its mothers day.. Bait was plentiful, coolest part for me was watching squid in big numbers swim past my kayak 1 foot down (need to bring net next time).. We made to much bait, but nothing enough to get a seabass..

let me know if your out this way again..

I was pretty pissed that I overslept my alarm. I was sure that i was going to make us miss whatever bite there would be. I still cant believe how many sanddabs there were yesterday.

As usual allways fun fishing with you and the "Fish Terrorist"... However if you catch a fish like that again when we are side by side and only you get bit I will punch you in your ovaries.
