Anybody fishing leo carrillo area to deer creek

Just got a kayak last month and only fished it a couple of times. But looking for people to fish with.

Was planning on fishing deer creek yesterday but it was too rough so I just hung out at the beach as everywhere else had no parking being a saturday. I was wondering if anybody had some Ideas for me for easier places to launch until I get a little more confidence? Also If anybody wants to fish weekends around the area I am more than willing to meet up?

I have a huge amount of saltwater experience and I am well rounded in the rest of the fishing scene too. Also wondering if anybody here fly fishes from their yak?

Deer creek and Leo are both good spots, lots of kelp in the are and depending on the season have a shot at some WSB. I haven't fished there in a since spring. I think I may need to be doing a run up that way and stay in the Leo Carillo campground. I'll shoot you a msg when I go. I usually fish weekends as well.

I use to surf fish

Just to left of stairs. Maybe 50 yards. It was a spot my dad took me to when I was a child. You can see a large boulder protruding from water. I use to catch lots of shark and guitar fish there. Some over 5 ft. I was using long 14 ft rods , with big spinning reels , heavy weights, and squid for bait. Hope this info helps. Goodluck.
