10/3 Big Bay Bassing

Quick report for SD Bay from Sunday morning..........

Launched the yak at high tide around 0600. Got to my first spot just in time for the beginning of the out going tide. Spotties were on the chew big time. Caught at least 10 spotties and a couple sandies while working the drift.

Made a location move and picked it right back up again with a more mixed bass including a pig spottie.

Off the water by 1100. Conditions were great, cool and overcast, moving tide, and little wind.

C&R'ed about 20 bass. Caught using nuclear chicken jerk baits, chartruese/white swimming mullets, and dark swim baits and dual tailed grubs covered in UNI Butter.

Peace,

Spyder

Nice spotties!

One question - How do you apply the unibutter to your lures? I am looking for a way to do it without having the unibutter spill into the kayak.

Yes, because that stuff is just foul-smelling.

I like the new UNI-Butter containers the ones like a pill container with the screw off top. Once it warms you can just dip it in or put some on your fingers and wipe it on the bait. I do wish they had larger containers though, go through that stuff quick!

Nice spotties! thanks for the report

Those new containers leak by the way! At least mine does. I put a ziploc snack bag over the open container and screwed the cap back on. The baggie seems to fill the gaps in the threads pretty well.

I have the Uni in the screw-off lid; I keep this in a ziploc bag as it does leak over time. I am planning to try a couple of methods of applying the butter to see if this lowers the spill amount.
