Casio G'zONe PHONE LIVES!!!!

Long Story short:

I dropped my phone Sunday morning at the small beach at newport when i launched at 6am in the morning with rob. (i thought i had left my phone in the car) So when george and I come back after a long day paddle at 2:30pm i spotted a phone that looks just like mine inside 2 ft of water. ( guess what it was my phone)

i said oh snaps there goes another phone!!!

Well i let it all dry up and what do you know. ITS STILL WORKS!!!!

Only negative is my battery life sucks!

This is the review from cnet

If Aquaman or Superman ever needed a cell phone to keep in touch with the other members of the Justice League, Verizon Wireless's new G'zOne Type-V would be the perfect handset. Rugged, strong, and waterproof, the Type-V is well suited to the superhero lifestyle. Aquaman could take it underwater (albeit one meter), while Superman could use it while battling villains in the most extreme environments. It's not the prettiest phone around, but like a superhero, it's built to take a lot of blows. Look out Nextel, Verizon is coming after you. ... Expand full review

I thought you were playing around when you said you dropped your phone in the water.
I've been looking for something like this, something that I can take on my fishing trips.

What are you going to do with the G-zone? Want to trade for a goofy hat?

since we are talking about leaving items in the surf, (the drink) final talley on my little episode this weekend, one game clip with strap, 25.00 4 various Shimano reels going in for sand removal 25.00 each, two modified rod holders, you saw them, 16.00 each, so let's see a $157.00 roll in the surf for me, glad your phone still works I am down for the weekend as I had to send in my main fleet in for repair...go get um for me

I have the G'zone Ravine and luv it haven't dropped it yet but I don't worry about handling it with wet hands. Mine has tide tables moon phases and sun rise/set time functions as well its a nice simple phone no apps just a phone with good features for the outdoors inclined. My 2 cents.

I had the G'z Boulder, but upgraded to a Droid. Towards the end I tossed it into my brother in laws 8ft pool, and had my nephew try to retrieve it. He couldn't, so after 10 min I dove down to get it. I opened it up and it worked fine...

Ravine is OK

I've got the Ravine to replace my Casio Exilim, that sucked. I love the G'Zone apps for tide, moon, stars, etc. Battery life is only fair. Great feel and doesn't slip out of hands when wet - loved for using during Bug season - with cold gloves on. However the mic placement sucks, so you have to hold it just right if you aren't using a Bluetooth. They now have one w/a full keyboard. I just can't wait for a waterproof smartphone.
