Thinking was going to hit up DP in the AM. One day would like to try NPB, but not manana.

I'll be in an olive outback.

I had today & tomorrow off, but I had to cover shifts.

Hopefully next time. Might go out on Saturday.

figured to head north. plan to launch from doheny beach (not baby beach) to save from a long unecessary paddle and to save $10. should be in the parking lot by about 5:15 am.

Isn't it $1 per hour at the ticket machine to park there still? Not really saving a whole lot over using the launch ramp and you have to risk a launch/land through the waves.

yes, $1 per hour BUT I buy the metered parking pass at the start of the year. So no additional $ for me. I like the launch, no waves generally and saves about 40 min of paddle when launching from baby beach.
