Anyone can fish in June, but the guys who fish in February are the real deal!!

Almost 50 signed up, only 30 showed, 3 Yellows caught, Dorado50 for the win!

I think that was my last tournament, but I still remember every minute of it from launch to landing. It think it was like my second time down to La Jolla. I lost a good fish, and when I saw Dave's slug I was like: "I got to get one of those!!!"

I was so into it. I didn't even bother paddling in for the weigh in because I didn't want to stop fishing, and within a week I landed my first two kayak Yellows around thirty and forty pounds. Talk about a epic introduction to La Jolla fishing, great times for sure

Damn Gary your the psychologist figure it out

Obviously Monkeyman is somewhere in that long list and he wants acknowledgement. The irony being he can't openly admit which one he is.

I'm sure you can imagine his frustration.

Some people think being first is a big deal, like virginity or something. What they do not realize that just because you came first doesn't mean you'll necessarily have a long term impact or even be remembered.

For guys like me this is all no big deal. I know I'm not the real deal, or some kind of major figure in kayaking. I mean I love kayaking but it's just one of many things I like to do, and you and I just come here for fun.

For others Kayaking is their one big deal, their five minutes fame, and they have to maintain their delusions of importance and control. Monkeyboy is dead serious here even though we are joking around. He wants to be seen as the real deal even if he never contributes anything real at all.
