how do i detach lowrance mark 4 head unit from base mount?

Im having trouble transporting my kayak with my fish finder on it, and i'd like to take it off. One little problem i don't know how. Could somone please help me with this issue.

On the back of the unit, just above the E in Lowrance, you will notice a edge you can fit your finger tips against, with your palm against the top of the unit, use three finger tips to pull up on that edge. The unit should lift off its mount. Sometimes sand gets in there and makes it stick, but lift that edge up a quarter inch and the screen should come right off.
