Lowrance hook 5 advise.

Im looking at picking up a hook 5. After searching all over the internet with crazy different price ranges for what looks like the same shit, what model # are you guys running or would have bought? And which do you prefer the insight pro or navionics? Thanks for the help

The elite chirp is older but I would consider it a better unit then the hook.

Avoid the Hook series if you can afford it. Nothing but issues from an other-than-that very reliable brand.

I just got a Raymarine Dragonfly 7pro that should be arriving tonight. I was in the 600ish range and thats the unit I went with...

I was reading on here that alot of people had problems with the hook series actually. So the next step up is th elite.series and no issues with those

Hope you didn't pay that much, I see the DF7 Pro w/Navionics currently for $453. I may upgrade my DF6 this year to the bigger screen.

YES it is, but fits the Lawrance ready yaks, also BERLEY PRO makes a transducer mount/shield tha works well and fits the hobies that are lawreace ready, you might check it out. Tight Lines.
