Help the Kayak Fishing Association of California Keep SoCal’s Ocean Access Open

A California state law, the Marine Life Protection Act, requires establishment of a new network of marine reserves. Because kayak anglers can only get into the water in few places, WHERE these new reserves are placed is critical. Southern California’s special kayak fishing spots are under threat, including Malibu, the birthplace of the sport’s modern revival, and Dana Point, Orange County’s gateway to kayak fishing and host of the region’s only no motor zone at Doheny Beach. Worst of all, amazing La Jolla, the US west coast’s only year-round kayak fishery for hard-charging yellowtail, site of one of the state’s few drive-on beach launches, a place where the waves are often step-over small, is coveted by preservationist groups.
The KFACA is engaged at all levels of this process, in an attempt to steer reserves away from our scarce launch sites. Political action is expensive, especially at the upper echelons.
Support the KFACA's efforts to keep kayak fishing's crown jewels open. We are part of a broad coalition, the Partnership for Sustainable Oceans. The PSO is battling hard for recreational anglers.

If you want the magazine deal make it payable to Kayak Fisherman.
If you want to skip the mag deal and donate directly to the KFACA check out Paul's (PAL) threads in this forum titled "$$$$ for MLPA efforts" and "KFACA/PSO Benefit" or email/pm Paul to find out more about donations, fundraisers and volunteer work for the KFACA.
