Fish Market Report.

So I went to the local fish market to pick up scrapes for lobster bait. It is a shame how much fish meat was going to waste. I Picked up about 40 lbs of fish, a lot looked like great filets and steaks. I Packed my cages, made a chum bucket, threw about 5 lbs of meat on the BBQ and fed it to my dog, Put this giant fish thing to decompose out in the back yard, and still had to throw out a ton of fish.

Well done utilizing all of a quality product. If a product won't sell or takes too much to trim or process it gets thrown out. Americans waste some thing like 27% of all edible food in the nation. If you haven't watched the movie Dive! you should. Seriously. Mike

very nice to see that the meat is being used for good purpose rather than decomposing in a trash pile somewhere. I've noticed that when i use fish fillets and guts and leftovers, seals really go crazy and suck it out of the cages. when i use macs/sardines... the seals dont really touch it. strange.

its true the soft stuff disappears out of the cages, I stuff them in anyway. I stuff the softer stuff in the PVC, and stick heads, and spines, and fillets for what ever space is left in the cages.
