i am in need BADLY of some fast reel repair for my new Daiwa Sealine 40SHA.
Five Sharks smoked it..
Everyone I talk to has a 1-two week turnaround which is customary for repairs, but its not ideal for i..
(pamela anderson...)

Need a set of carbontex washers installed ASAP! Any links faster than a week?
Im broke and only have 1 decent LJ reel..

Thanks FISHIONADO! if i had the time i would in a second..been stuck in the studio remixing The Mighty Diamonds with no sleep for almost 20 hrs+..still more to go..no z's for me, & i need to fish!!!!!!............

Joey has the drags at squidco for $14.
If you plan on installing them yourself be cautious when it comes to the gear lever spring.

It is a funky looking spring that can pop out easily, so keep some pressure on the lever to prevent it from coming loose.

The rest of the job is straight forward, use lots of grease around the handle bearing.

Try Glen at 619-370-8670. He does work for Shimano. Is very good. Will work on other reels too.

Like the others said, if the bearings are good it should only take 30min-hr to change out/grease the drag washers. IMO it's worth the time and effort to learn how to tear down, clean and service your favorite reels, that way your not shut down while your reels are getting repaired and its much cheaper (squidco stocks all the parts you need).

By far the best part about DIY reel service is repairing, or modifying beat up reels then landing a big fish on them! Its also interesting to see the difference in materials, design and component size between some of the most popular reels.

Ken is away, and the man Wes had a whole lotta weight to hold..
im checkin back in on tues..thanks for your suggestions guys!
i have to somehow pull some $ outta my arse and have a back up reel..

need to go to squidco to get those..whats the perferred lube?i may just break out my vintage joints again..
i have these awesome OLD-school vintage reels that my dearest Grandfather passed down to me..
Last year I took one out just for sh!ts and giggles and to pay homage to the Old Soldier..Break it out in his honor..So i get Wacked by a nice 40# class ghost, and the handle alone is only an inch long!
what a battle that 1 was!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH....
