Went to Irvine Lake on Sunday and brought 2 Kids, Roman and Roxy. The Lake is full and the launch was very easy....3477
3478
Roxy caught the first fish....
3480
then we got hungry and decided to have a picnic lunch in the middle of the lake!
3479
Roman's turn, as he hooks and lands a nice one on the 2 pound test rig...it was amazing to watch Roman get towed on light line - 2lb test!
3481
Smallest fish weighed 3 lbs, these were large trout.
3482
I wonder where Roman got the idea to pose this way??? He obviously reads BWE! (thanks Wade!)
3483
Roxy's Personal Best and first Kayak fish 3lbs!
3486
Roman's Personal Best Trout 6.5 lbs on 2lb test!
3484
And finally, Daddeo's Personal Best - 2 Happy Kids!!!
3485
It was an absolute beautiful day on the water, clear blue skies, air temp was somewhere in the 70's and water temp was a cool 61 degrees. Irvine Lake is close to home and the fish are large and hungry! 'I love it when a plan comes together!' -ED :cheers1:

gotta love the smiles on those kids faces! way to go, Dad!
Great job dad...wasn't there a tournament at Irvine Lake? In the pics it looks empty. Roman's fish could have been in the top 10. Once again awesome job!!!

You're absolutely right about the tournament Roby. Unfortunately we didn't enter. It appears that Roman's fish would have yielded over $400 dollars! The greater reward for me was having a great day fishing with the kids.

I heard "Bubba" had the trailer towed out to deeper water to make a better "honey hole" for the catfishin'/noodlin' in the summer time. :farmer:

Boy I hope there wasn't a nice tow vehicle attached to the front of that trailer, looks like that incident in Marina Del Rey last year....oops
