Yeah, that area is alot of fun! I want to hike into the back country next time I go up there. Catching a nice Golden has been added to the bucket list.

the wife and I were backpacking frequently before kids
there are some spots up there holding some real nice rainbows, goldens, and browns....natives. They are animals once hooked, no lack of action either.

We would pack in up to 8 miles and make camp. Then take day hikes to higher and even more remote glacier lakes...crystal clear water. No monsters but like I said, no lack of action.

I love the eastern sierras, some of the most beautiful scenery and good fishing. have spent a good amount of time backpacking and fishing out there. I have a spot that is a two day hike to get too but it has some lunker golden trout!

Nice job on the fish!

It was windy the whole time we were there which kept the temps down. It was very cold at night, upper 30's low 40's.
