If you buy the model kayak that I bought this year you'll always have enough water sloshing around inside the hull so that fire won't ever be a problem!

ok, alright already. It was my kayak that did not explode. Handymansd was right, I was having trouble with my pump working intermitantly. At one point I turned around to check on it and I saw a billow of smoke then flash and fire. I mean a large flame. I did a splash with my paddle twice and it was out. I continued on because there was not enough damage for me to not fish. Should of turned around in hind site. Fishing sucked. On shore I discovered it was the wires that came with the pump that had been repaired over the years and they either shorted or became too weak and couldn't manage the battery? I am using a 12v 7ah rechargeable. My guess it was the old wires. They were completely burn't to the bare wire. This could of been bad. Lessoned learned. Always have good, clean intact wires. Period.
