I can assure you that you WILL NOT follow that path and your 8.47 mile trek will be something closer to 10miles (+/- 5miles). As soon as you get past Pier 400 you will see so much open water and its likely that you will want to fish it all. Another thing to consider is the fact that windfinder is correct about 1% of the time, the tides are usually accurate but the winds are always off by 5kts or so (+/- 10kts). Don't trust the wind reports, the winds can change without notice and if you're not prepared you'll be calling the USCG for help.
